Blog of the Week: Learn Something Everyday
So, what did you learn today? I learned that dirty dishes don’t clean themselves if you leave them overnight, the local supermarket doesn’t stock broccoli and that 4,000 year old cheese was found in Egyptian tombs. The bit of knowledge that might actually be handy in a pub quiz was courtesy of Learn Something Everyday, a visually enticing site of fun facts that does exactly what it says on the tin. Every day, a fun fact (did you know that Salvidor Dali designed the Chupa Chups logo?) is added to the site, complete with a illustrative sketch (were you aware that there is no word for ‘yesterday’ in the Eskimo language?).
So far, Blog of the Week Learn Something Everyday has added a daily doodle and fact throughout the 31 days of August. Now, either the Learn Something team wants to get the community involved (or they’re starting to run out of ideas) with a call for visitors to submit their own facts – and the very best one gets turned into a limited edition poster each month.

It’s a minimal effort way to stock up on random trivia and bits of knowledge, and you never know when the info might come in handy.
Don’t worry, there won’t be a test.
