Blog of the Week: Variations on Normal
At what age were inventors no longer cool? Somewhere between childhood television shows and mortgages inventors became eccentric out of work recluses peddling ideas that no one really wants or needs – just look at Dragon’s Den. Fortunately for fans of James Bond’s Q or Batman’s Lucius Fox inventions are back in vogue with our blog of the week, Variations on Normal by Domininc Wilcox.
Each post outlines the plan for a new invention, complete with sketches, but don’t get too excited about any of his imaginative products – these humorous and highly enjoyable creations aren’t things you’d expect to see in high street shops. From a giant Frisbee (perfect for fun times and cross-park transport of you and your friends) to a visitor analytics system connected to your doorbell (see how many unique versus returning visitors you have, and how long they spend in your home), these inventions of fancy aren’t limited by silly things such as “physics,” but based on the ideas and inventions that pop into your head to make every day life just a little bit more enjoyable.
