Do You Poken?

14 June 2009 One Comment FavoriteLoadingAdd to favorites

You said all you knew about Pokemon came from your obnoxious babysitting charge but admit it, there was something kinda catchy about catching them all. Now, you can truly let out the collector in you with the seriously cute and totally professional Poken, a gadget that lets you transfer contact and social networking information with other Poken users. Like a digital Rolodex and business card all in one, you store your own information in your Poken, touch it to another person’s Poken to swap contact info and then plug it into any USB drive to upload the details.

The various Poken characters, ranging from pandas to ninjas to aliens, can hold data for 64 contacts at a time before requiring an upload so when you’ve gotta network with ‘em all there’s no chance of losing the details of those you meet. Sorry, Piccachu, looks like we found an upgrade.

I think these are so fun, and I can’t wait to get one - the only issue is finding enough people with Poken to make it useful. Once it reaches a tipping point, when it’s more of a hassle not to have one, I think these will really take off.
