Join the Conspiracy for Good

Conspiracy for Good is the newest project of creative mind Tim Kring, creator of the hit TV show Heroes, and a fully immersive transmedia game that’s crossing digital channels and engaging thousands of unmembers eager to bring down Blackwell Briggs. Conspiracy for Good, which is sponsored by Nokia and supporting two non-profit organizations (the Pearson Foundation and Room to Read), is a new form of creative and interactive story-telling that delivers the tale through online, offline and mobile channels.

Last Day of Panel Submission for SXSW 2011

Today marks the last official day to submit panel suggestions for SXSW 2011. And now, it’s that time of year again where those interested in participating can throw their hat in the ring to get selected as a speaker at SXSW 2011. The SXSW panel picker accepts proposals for each channel of the conference (that’s Interactive, Music and Film) and then lets potential attendees vote on their favourites. The group vote, as well as input from the SXSW selection committee jointly decide whose talks are on the schedule.

Cut&Paste International Design Competition

Contestants compete in one of three categories: 2D with 15 minutes to create a flat image, 3D with 20 minutes to create a 3D rendered object and motion with 8 hours to create a 15 second animated clip. The motion designers, who have been working all day, give barely a glance as I hover above their screens. My attention is diverted as Cut&Paste kicks off with the first 3D round. With a cheer from the audience, the designers are off, rushing to build a model that fits the enigmatic theme “rescue package.”
