Here at Techettes, we’re most excited for the Tomorrow’s Web panel hosted by Anna Debenham, a freelance front end developer who has been building her own websites since the age of 14. She stands out amongst the speakers not because she’s the only female on the list but because her credentials prove Anna to be a true expert on her subject. We got touch with Anna to talk about her background in design and tech, her involvement in Tomorrow’s Web – including a sneak peek at her panel – and her plans for the future.

In a country where most adults seem more interested in teen knife crime than the achievements of some of Britain’s most successful young entrepreneurs, it was a great day when teen techies Grant Bell and Robert Day joined forces to organise Tomorrow’s Web. Pitched as an opportunity to put under-21 entrepreneurs centre stage, this one day London event will place budding businessmen and women face to face with London investors, start up networks such as Sun’s Startup Essentials and each other while they network, share ideas and prove that, age completely aside, they’ve got what it takes to make it.

On 26 June, just before 10 o’clock in the morning, an idea hatched on Twitter. Coordinated by blog posts, Facebook events and, of course, Twitter retweets, the London Mass Moonwalk in honour of the fallen King of Pop went from concept to completion in half a day and saw hundreds of Londoners and nearly as many members of the press outside Liverpool street station in an impromptu dance party. Arguably this is the very first Twitter-organised event to truly combine both London’s techies and Twitterites with the general public.
