All the Little Birdies Go Tweet Tweet Tweet

We know you’re a pretty rockin’ robin and the go-to music girl for your poor tone-deaf friends. So what better way to stay on top of the latest music news than with Twitter, that blue bird of friendliness where in just 140 characters you can connect with recording artists, promoters, labels and other music lovers?

It looks like one ambitious pair has taken it one step further with TwitGigs, the microblogging site’s very first live gig. Arranged as a battle-of-the-bands event, three up and coming London bands will rely on a little help from their friends as they duke it out on a live stage for votes on Twitter. If you’re in London, you can join in the live action on 6 August at the Vibe Bar or you can play along from home, watching a live feed of the event and keeping up with the Twitter chatter about each band’s performance.

For all the details, simply follow @twitgigs on Twitter or visit their website .

Let’s see who can make all the little birdies go tweet tweet tweet.
