Your singing is excellent. Excellent at clearing a room that is. Fortunately for your ego and Simon Cowell you know better than to sign up for X Factor or American Idol but you don’t need to can your big star dreams just yet. Lucky Voice Home Karaoke has brought the stage, the songs, the music and the solo to you in the comfort and privacy of your own home.

Simply register at home.luckyvoice.com and you’ll be part of the the Lucky Voice community where you can create, find and share playlists of thousands of karaoke songs, plan karaoke parties with your friends and, of course, sing into your hairbrush like your career depends on it. The Lucky Voice Home Karaoke system is quite similar to your local pub’s television based karaoke kit – words on a screen, the radio edit music and backup vocals to throw you off at all the tricky bits of the song. You can queue multiple songs in a row and choose from a selection that spans from Abba and Aqua to the Counting Crows, Fall Out Boy and Amy Winehouse.

Lucky Voice is free to use but there are a couple of add ons for the serious soloist. The Party Box is available for vocal amplification (it’s almost worth it for the neon pink microphone alone) and a small monthly subscription is needed to unlock the premium song library. Both are useful if you’re planning to use the system at parties or events.

All in all Lucky Voice Home Karaoke is a fun toy and can make a welcome change from singing a cappella in the shower. We just hope you use this opportunity to prepare before the next office party – you know people aren’t actually supposed to leave when you sing “what would you say if I sang out of tune, would you stand up and walk out on me?”

Ready to give Lucky Voice a go? Techettes readers can get a free week of access to the premium song library with the code techettesing. You must redeem this code by Sept 13, 2009.
