Nude London Tech Calendar 2010 (it’s all for charity. And boys in pants.)

Techettes and Techies may have a bit of a bad rap when it comes to the looks department. Films from the 1980’s featuring bumbling computer geeks with thick glasses and shirts tucked into high top trousers for the boys and the persistent “Velma look” for the girls didn’t inspire any Technology’s Next Top Model style competitions.

All that is about to change, and in the name of charity! with the newest stunt from flash moonwalk organiser Milo Yiannopoulos and the Nude London Tech Calendar 2010. He explains,

We’re going to assemble and publish a Calendar Girls-style nude calendar, featuring 12 girls and 12 boys from the London tech scene. The calendar will be reversible (boys on top; girls on the bottom) and will go on sale in late November. Profits will go to a charity to be announced soon.

We’ve already got more boys and girls than there are months in the year interested in participating, so we’ve decided to create a shortlist for each gender from which a selection committee will pick 12 to appear in the calendar.

While the idea of geeks in their birthday suits may not seem that charitable to anyone, the calendar promises to feature girls and boys selected entirely based on their looks – absolutely no brains or personality required as long as they already work in tech.

Think you, or someone you know, is a shoe in for March? The deadline for shortlist nominations is 25 September 2009. To nominate someone, simply email your suggestion. The calendar should be available in plenty of time for Christmas gifting. May we suggest, however, checking that your coworkers aren’t involved before bringing it as a gag gift to the office party.
