Oh boo hoo. You don’t have an iPhone and so you can’t use the snazzy audio capture and live publishing app AudioBoo . No audio blogging for you, no recording interviews on the go and uploading them automatically, no way to instantly share the awesome audio around you…. Feeling hard done by? Before moaning about how everyone has an iPhone, it’s worth remembering that iPhone only just passed the 1% market share landmark this year. With that in mind, AudioBoo has opened up their service to all mobile platforms with PhoneBoo , their beta project and all-mobile spinoff.

The PhoneBoo page reads “This site is massively under construction at this point, and exists purely to gauge uptake and provide an alternate publishing point for non iPhone users.” That said, the service still works in much the same way as the main AudioBoo application. Link up your phone, dial a number, then record your Boo which is then published live on the site ready for mass consumption. You can even automatically share new Boos through Twitter, Facebook and FriendFeed.

AudioBoo for the iPhone is still the premier service for publishing audio clips to the web from your mobile phone but if you’re still short a smartphone of the Apple persuasion then PhoneBoo is beginning to bring online audio publication to the masses.

And that is definitely something to Boo about.
