Mapping the Miles

The yoga tapes all seem so inflexible and if you have to hear Jane Fonda say “let’s go girls!” one more time you might put your foot through the TV. Time for some quality rehabilitation with the outdoors for you young lady! With the last months of summer still begging for trail, city, mountain and beach exploration, it’s about time you ditched those work out tapes.

“But Techettes!” you cry. “What about my perfectly measured exercise regime? How will I know how many miles I’ve covered? The calories I’ve burned? How many Krispy Kremes I can eat without feeling guilty?”

Fear not, once again the ‘net provides the solution with the fantastic little app MapMyWalk. Just like it says on the tin, this map overlay tool allows you to preemptively plot your course, measure your walk mileage or search and share walks with others in your area. The user interface takes a few minutes to get used to but once you’ve sorted out your cartography skills you’re well on your way to trail tracking.

And that’s worth a Krispy Kreme all on its own.
